Warm Up Your Corporate Video with Light Effects from the Business 01 Style Kit

The Rampant Business Style Kit is all about style and class. It’s targeted at corporate video editors, and graphic designers, and has a sleek elegance to it, that I think you’ll be impressed with.

One thing you’ll notice about this style kit right away, is that it’s all about the straight lines.  Whether you’re creating split screens with two different shots, creating an opening title to start your piece off, or just adding some stylistic eye candy to draw your viewers in, there’s just something about the look of these elements, that not only gives it a very business feel, but also a very futuristic feel as well.

One thing that I want to point out, and it’s something that’s really at the core of all of the Style Kits, and the Business kit is no exception, is the Light Effects.  Now you might be thinking, well, why would they be more important here, as opposed to any other Style Kit.  Well, it’s very simple.  The Light Effects, in most case, have a very warm, and inviting glow and feeling, that draws the viewer in.  Ninety-nine times out of one hundred, business situations are very sterile and cold, and it’s your job, as the editor or motion graphic designer to to help make corporate videos more inviting, and pleasing to the eye, and in many cases, adding a simple lighting effect can go a long way to doing just that.

I really love the difference between the before and after, but there’s a secret I want to let you in on.  If you add the Light Effect to your shot, and use a standard Add or Screen blend mode to create the look above, it won’t be quite right, and will look oversaturated.  Simply take a Hue/Saturation effect (standard NLE/Compositing application effect), and pull out about fifty percent of the saturation, and you’ll get a shot like the above one that could easily be added to an A&E documentary, or a cool flashback scene for your next crime drama!

Don’t forget you can check out the Business Style Kit, plus all the other Style Kits that Rampant offers at RampantStyleKits.com.  Special thanks to Artbeats, for the use of the footage for this blog post!
